  • Carla Oliva

    Pilates Instructor and Studio Owner

Carla's journey into understanding human movement began in 1995 while attaining her Bachelor degree in Physical Education at the Universidade São Judas Tadeu in São Paulo, Brazil. There, she immersed herself in studying posture and body alignment with a focus on movement. This passion later led to attaining her Pilates certification in 2010. Carla has a profound interest in exploring movement and techniques that allow her clients to experience a better understanding of how they move and how to improve through exercise. After moving to the United States, Carla received her Pilates certification and started working at ONE Physical Therapy and Wellness in Bryn Mawr, PA. As a Pilates instructor, she had the opportunity to work with rehab and post rehab patients in a one-on-one setting to improve their fitness and wellness goals. Carla's own history of orthopedic injuries moved her to pursue a more therapeutic approach to teaching movement. After leaving Pennsylvania, Carla continued to work both in a clinical setting as well as from her own home-studio in Beaverton, OR. In 2014, Carla graduated from Oregon School of Massage and is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Oregon. This additional credential affords her the opportunity to use manual techniques to help clients improve their well-being and body awareness even further. After Carla and her husband left OR in 2016 to travel the United States in their motorhome, she had the opportunity to experience substitute teaching in a variety of Pilates studios, which led her to open her own Club Pilates in Pennsylvania. With over 20 years of experience, Carla educates and encourages clients on how to achieve their fitness goals while promoting a safe practice of physical activities. Her ongoing thirst for knowledge and dedication to receiving quality education offers her clients a unique, wide-ranging approach to fitness and well-being through Pilates and massage.

In 2013, Rachael left the corporate world for full-time fitness and has been living her passion every day since. Rachael has experience working with all populations with clients ranging in age from students to octogenarians. She has always been active and athletic (despite a weakness for mozzarella sticks), and especially enjoys working with athletes. A retired cheerleader, Rachael began her fitness career teaching cheer based cardio and strength training and brings that upbeat energy and encouragement to each class she teaches. When she’s not totally immersed in Pilates, Rachael loves to spend as much time as she can with family and friends. She enjoys a hot cup(s) of coffee, trying to keep up with her wildly entertaining and energetic toddler, and occasionally getting really dressed up.
